The mission of Jesus was not end up with doing of the wonders. They were just the deeds that revealed his divinity. His miracles were revealed that Jesus has the power over this world, and over all the nature. The risen up of the dead, and walking on the sea were notified his power over the creations. "Just as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself" (John 5:26).
Jesus was entered into Jerusalem among warm welcome of the people. Thus the following prophecy fulfilled: "Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem! Lo, your King comes to you; triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey" (Zechariah 9:9). "The Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight--indeed, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts" (Malachi 3:1).
"The Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.' For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes." (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
Jesus came to made a new covenant between God the Father and the humans, through his sacrifice on the Cross. Blood of Jesus the lamb of God was shed to took away the sin of the world. "Surely he has borne our infirmities and carried our diseases; he was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed" (Isaiah 53:4-5). Jesus made the Eucharistic sacrifice, as the permanent sign of this sacrifice on the Cross.
"Through Jesus God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross" (Colossians 1:20). "It is by God's will that we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. When Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, 'he sat down at the right hand of God,' and since then has been waiting 'until his enemies would be made a footstool for his feet.' For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified" (Hebrews 10:10,12-14).

மனிதகுல மீட்பு
இயேசுவின் பணி அற்புதங்கள் செய்வதோடு முடிந்துவிடவில்லை. அவை அவரது இறைத்தன்மையை வெளிப்படுத்தும் செயல்களாக மட்டுமே வெளிப்பட்டன. இந்த உலகின் மீதும், இயற்கை அனைத்தின் மீதும் இயேசுவுக்கு அதிகாரம் உண்டு என்பதை வெளிப்படுத்தும் வகையிலே, அவர் நிகழ்த்திய புதுமைகள் இருந்தன. இயேசு இறந்தோரை உயிர்த்தெழச் செய்ததும், கடல் மீது நடந்ததும் படைப்புகளின் மேல் அவருக்கு உள்ள அதிகாரத்தை சுட்டிக்காட்டுவதாகவே அமைந்துள்ளன. "தந்தை, தாம் வாழ்வின் ஊற்றாய் இருப்பது போல மகனும் வாழ்வின் ஊற்றாய் இருக்குமாறு செய்துள்ளார்" (யோவான் 5:26).
மக்களின் நல்ல வரவேற்புக்கு நடுவே இயேசு எருசலேமில் நுழைந்தார். "மகளே சீயோன்! மகிழ்ந்து களிகூரு; மகளே எருசலேம்! ஆர்ப்பரி. இதோ! உன் அரசர் உன்னிடம் வருகிறார். அவர் நீதியுள்ளவர்; வெற்றிவேந்தர்; எளிமையுள்ளவர்; கழுதையின்மேல், கழுதைக்குட்டியாகிய மறியின்மேல் ஏறி வருகிறவர்" (செக்கரியா 9:9) என்ற இறைவாக்கு நிறைவேறியது. "நீங்கள் தேடுகின்ற தலைவர் திடீரெனத் தம் கோவிலுக்கு வருவார். நீங்கள் ஆவலுடன் எதிர்பார்க்கும் உடன்படிக்கையின் தூதர் இதோ வருகிறார் என்கிறார் படைகளின் ஆண்டவர்" (மலாக்கி 3:1).
"ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு காட்டிக்கொடுக்கப்பட்ட அந்த இரவில், அப்பத்தை எடுத்து, கடவுளுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தி, அதைப்பிட்டு, 'இது உங்களுக்கான என் உடல். இதை என் நினைவாக செய்யுங்கள்' என்றார். அப்படியே உணவு அருந்தியபின் கிண்ணத்தையும் எடுத்து, 'இந்தக் கிண்ணம் என் இரத்தத்தால் நிலைப்படுத்தப்படும் புதிய உடன்படிக்கை. நீங்கள் இதிலிருந்து பருகும்போதெல்லாம் என் நினைவாக இவ்வாறு செய்யுங்கள்' என்றார். ஆதலால் நீங்கள் இந்த அப்பத்தை உண்டு கிண்ணத்திலிருந்து பருகும்போ தெல்லாம் ஆண்டவருடைய சாவை அவர் வரும்வரை அறிவிக்கிறீர்கள்" (1 கொரிந்தியர் 11:23-26).
இயேசு தன்னையே சிலுவையில் பலியாக கையளித்து, தந்தையாம் கடவுளுக்கும் மனிதருக்கும் இடையே புதிய உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்த வந்தார். கடவுளின் ஆட்டுக் குட்டியான இயேசுவின் இரத்தம் உலக மக்களின் பாவங்களைப் போக்குவதற்காக சிந்தப்பட்டது. "மெய்யாகவே அவர் நம் பிணிகளைத் தாங்கிக் கொண்டார்; நம் துன் பங்களைச் சுமந்து கொண்டார்; நம் குற்றங்களுக்காகக் காயமடைந்தார்; நம் தீச் செயல்களுக்காக நொறுக்கப்பட்டார்; நமக்கு நிறைவாழ்வை அளிக்க அவர் தண்டிக்கப் பட்டார்; அவர்தம் காயங்களால் நாம் குணமடைகின்றோம்" (எசாயா 53:4-5). இந்த சிலுவைப் பலியின் நிலையான அடையாளமாகவே, இயேசு நற்கருணைப் பலியை ஏற்படுத்தினார்.
"சிலுவையில் இயேசு சிந்திய இரத்தத்தால் அமைதியை நிலைநாட்டவும் விண்ணிலுள்ளவை, மண்ணிலுள்ளவை அனைத்தையும் அவர் வழி தம்மோடு ஒப்புர வாக்கவும் கடவுள் திருவுளம் கொண்டார்" (கொலோசையர் 1:20). "இந்தத் திருவுளத்தால் தான் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து ஒரே ஒரு முறை தம் உடலைப் பலியாகச் செலுத்தியதின் மூலம் நாம் தூயவராக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறோம். இவர் ஒரே பலியைப் பாவங்களுக்காக என்றென் றைக்கும் எனச் செலுத்திவிட்டு, கடவுளின் வலப்பக்கத்தில் அமர்ந்துள்ளார். அங்கே தம் பகைவர் தமக்குக் கால்மணை ஆக்கப்படும்வரை காத்திருக்கிறார். தாம் தூயவராக்கிய வர்களை ஒரே பலியினால் என்றென்றைக்கும் நிறைவுள்ளவராக்கினார்" (எபிரேயர் 10:10,12-14).
